During the operation, the healing time is determined by evaluating many points such as the quality of the bone and the localization of the implant. Prosthesis construction is started after waiting for the implant osseointegration for 4-6 months for the upper jaw and 3 months for the lower jaw.
Movement of removable prostheses creates problems especially in completely edentulous patients and reduces the quality of life of the patient. Patients can not eat or talk comfortably even with family members due to the prosthesis that their prosthesis is constantly moving, and the anxiety that will be thrown out of their mouth.
In such cases, it is possible to fix the removable dentures to the mouth by means of implants placed in the mouth.
The patient can put on and remove the prosthesis at any time, but it will not move after the prosthesis is placed in the mouth. This provides an advantage in terms of facilitating cleaning while providing comfort and effective function to the patient.
Why should implant treatment be preferred?
The only thing that applies to all of us is to keep our natural teeth in the mouth as long as possible.
But when we experience tooth loss for any reason, we face two options. Either the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are cut and reduced and a bridge is made or implant treatment is planned.
In bridge treatment, in addition to one tooth loss, at least two natural teeth are cut and tissue loss occurs. As a result, “loss” is mentioned. However, implant treatment means "recovery" of the missing tooth root.
